A wiki is " a hypertext publication collaboratively edited and managed by its own audience directly using a web browser.". The most well known wiki is wikipedia itself. A  A wiki is a web page that allow s users to collaborate by creating, editing, publishing and deleting content. They are often used for a variety of educational activities that are synergistic, such as creating study guides and working on group presentations and assignments.

   Not only can adopting technology in education can be very time consuming but it can also be challenging. Wikis are becoming a more common form of technology in the classroom. Educators use wiki's as both teaching and learning tools that they use to improve the quality of learning for themselves and their students. Collaboration is a critical component of both teaching and learning. Wikis can also help with collaboration. Wikis can be used to engage students in collaborative learning. Wikis have similar benefits in traditional classrooms and hybrid or online courses as a means of gathering information, assessing students, and encouraging cooperation and interaction.

In my class, students will have the option to collaborate using the course content. I plan to not only allow my students to be able to learn from others, but for others to be able to learn from them. This will allow for students developing critical thinking skills, learning skills, teaching skills , and encourage group work. I will use my wiki to Allow students to collaborate without restrictions.
